Board, DC Prep, or any school district, county
office of education, state agency or education association. Board and platform names are
trademarks of their respective owners. AlertEd monitors publicly available job listings on
those boards and links you to the original posting to view details and apply.
1. Who we are
AlertEd ("we," "us," or "our") is a job-alert app operated by Boonaree LLC that helps
educators and school staff discover new public-school job postings in the states AlertEd
covers. We watch publicly available listings on public school job boards and notify you when
postings match the alerts ("watches") you create. Questions about this policy can be sent to
info@alerted.app.
2. Information we collect
Account information. How you sign in decides what we receive.
Sign in with Apple. We receive a unique Apple account identifier
and — only if you choose to share them — your name and email address. Apple's
"Hide My Email" private relay is fully supported.
Sign in with Google. We receive a unique Google account identifier,
your email address, and the name on your Google account.
Email sign-in codes and links. If you sign in with a one-time code or
a sign-in link, we receive the email address you type and store it with your account.
Whichever you use, we never receive or store your password for that provider.
Job alerts ("watches"). The counties, districts, keywords, job
types, and notification preferences (including your time zone, quiet hours, and
digest hour) you configure, so we can match postings and deliver alerts at the
right time.
Notification history. A record of which postings matched your
watches and when we notified you, so the app can show your alert history and avoid
duplicate notifications.
Bookmarks and application marks. Postings you bookmark or mark
as "applied" inside the app.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, your
device's Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token (iOS) or Firebase Cloud
Messaging (Google) token (Android).
Subscription status. If you subscribe to AlertEd+, we store the
App Store or Google Play transaction identifier and product identifier needed to
recognize your subscription. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google —
we never see or store your payment details.
Requests you send us. Free-text content of any access or feature
requests you submit through the app.
Usage logs. Routine server logs (request timestamps, HTTP status
codes) kept for debugging and abuse prevention.
Job listings themselves (titles, districts, salary text, deadlines, descriptions) are
public information published on those job boards; they are not personal data about you.
3. What we do NOT collect
We do not collect résumés, applications, references, or credentials. Applying for
a job happens on the job board or the district's own system, governed by their privacy
policies — not this one.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we serve no advertising.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with data brokers or any
third party for commercial purposes.
We do not collect your location. Region filters are chosen manually by you.
4. How we use your information
We use your information solely to operate AlertEd:
Match new job postings against your watches and deliver push notifications,
digests, and deadline reminders you've asked for.
Show your feed, bookmarks, notification history, and subscription status.
Send email digests if you opt into email delivery.
Maintain, debug, and secure the service.
5. Data sharing
We use the following service providers, each processing only the minimum needed:
Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — delivers notifications
to iOS devices, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers
notifications to Android devices (the notification text can include job titles and
district names).
Apple App Store or Google Play — processes subscription payments
and sends us subscription status updates.
Apple — verifies your identity if you use Sign in with Apple.
Google — verifies your identity if you use Sign in with Google.
Resend — sends your sign-in codes and links, and your email digests
if you opt into email delivery.
Fly.io — hosts our server (US region).
We never send your personal information to any job board. Our server fetches public listings
from those boards on its own schedule; those requests contain nothing about you.
6. Data retention and account deletion
Your data is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account at any
time in the app under Settings → Delete Account; this permanently
deletes your account, watches, notification history, bookmarks, device tokens, and
subscription records from our database. (An active App Store or Google Play subscription
must be cancelled separately in your Apple ID settings or your Google Play subscription
settings, since Apple or Google manages billing.)
You may also request deletion by emailing info@alerted.app.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at
any time. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you
have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively — including data
portability and the right to object to processing. Because we do not sell your data
and process it only to provide the service you signed up for, most of these rights are
satisfied by default; contact us to exercise any of them.
8. Children's privacy
AlertEd is a job-search tool intended for adults seeking employment. It is not directed
at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are
stored in the iOS Keychain (iOS) or Android's encrypted app storage (Android) on your
device. Access to production data is limited to the operator.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on
this page with an updated date, and where appropriate, noted in the app.
